Masters of Industrial Design

Our research began by examining our two components, Earth and Consideration. We explored our own urban environment and found that spaces exist within the city where people could escape and consider the environment in which they live.

Pedestrians in an urban setting who come across the pile of cut leaves will pick one up and see a specific location. When they arrive, they will rediscover a green space in the area. Using leaves as raw material exposed their cellular structure, whilst remaining a sustainable process.

We carried out the intervention in an unnatural setting, and recorded the reactions of passers by. Our hope that people would take these leaves as a call to take a moment and reconsider the natural public space in Philadelphia.
